We arrived at Bait Reef in the morning and when we got our mooring we had some welcomes come they were fish one small and one that was as big as me and they were hump-headed wrasse plus 9 batfish and 3 GT's (giant trevally). We hopped into the water and had a close up look at the fish and coral. Whales were cruising around the outside of the reef we were moored in.
we fed the fish biscuits and bread for lunch, dinner and breakfast. One of the GT's was circling our keel it looked like it was on patrol.
we stayed at bait reef overnight and left this morning (sunday) while we were going out we saw whales breaching and doing barrel rolls in mid air. and they were waving good by as we left.

G'day Finn! The steering of the Willy was great. Something i have never done is steer my house up the east coast of Australia. The Tarzan swinging looks fantastic and am very jealous. We went for a sail on the sharpie last week and i bet the water temp was'nt as nice as you're experiencing. Glad to see the snorkel photo posted. Will be great practice for snaring an abalone down the channel with your dad. Sounds like the trip to the reef was fantastic. All the best for the rest of your adventures and keep those posts coming. All the best Camel, Alana, Bonnie and Pickle xx
ReplyDeleteGreat comment from Camel!Do hope the weather settles down again for you to get out to the outer reef. It does sound spectacular out there. I have not been out there myself so am quite jealous. Double Bay would have been calm last night so you would have had a good sleep. Is Mum winding down yet? It was hard for her just knocking off work and we had been relaxing for a month. Hope the GT Alice caught was good eating. Keep us informed by keeping the BLOG up to date. Great sailing. Popsicle

Hey Finn,
ReplyDeletelove the photos! Have you tried putting your fish in the water instead of feeding them to see if they tickle your toes?
