My Final Blog Post

Pelican Bay / Wide Bay Bar

At Pelican Bay there were lots of cars getting bogged.  We saw dolphins jumping out of the water fishing.

Coming out of Wide Bay Bar we caught a Mackerel Tuna then we saw an Albacore Tuna jump out of the water.  Just as we went past where the Albacore Tuna jumped, we got a fish on our line.  It was a big one, we wound it in and it was an Albacore Tuna.  We thought it was the one that jumped out of the water.

Mooloolaba

We arrived at Mooloolaba.  We went for a drink at the Yacht Club and played on the free game machine.  We had dinner there so it saved Mum cooking dinner.

The next day we went for a walk to the city and went to a really nice gelato shop and went for a swim.  There were lots of good waves to body surf and the water was really warm.  We all went for a swim but Mum did not go for a swim because she thought it was really cold.  When we got back to the boat we had sausages and steak and mash and veggies.

After dinner Alice and I went Mullet fishing on the marina with a net and torch.  I scooped up two at the same time and when I was running, to show Mum and Dad, one of them slipped through a hole and I slipped on the scales and I nearly squashed the Mullet.

The next day we went to Coles and we did another load of washing and went for showers.  Dad and I said we will meet Mum and Alice at the Yacht Club bar after we had our showers.  Mum said that she had prepared dinner on the boat and did not want to go to the bar.  After Dad and I had our showers we went to the bar and had a drink.  Mum and Alice saw us and came into the bar and had a drink.  Mum gave in and decided that we should have dinner at the Yacht Club, because we were already there!

Tangalooma / Peel Island

In the morning the next day, we headed to Tangalooma, it took us 5 hours to get there.  We got there and we saw 4 ship wrecks in a row.  We put the anchor down and went for a snorkel.  There were lots of fish.  We went back to the boat and went to Peel Island.  When we got there we went for a walk and tried to get yabbies and got some.  We went back to the boat and used them for bait.  Dad got a little fish then we got more and they got smaller and smaller.

Cabbage Tree Point

The next day we went to Cabbage Tree Point.  When we got there and anchored, there were 6 Grand Banks (big power boat) charging past us.  Dad and I went to get some yabbies but when we got to the shore Dad hopped out.  The mud was thick and black and up to his waist, I hopped out and it was sinking too.  Dad and I could feel the yabbies on our feet and I pulled up a yabby nipper.  We got some yabbies.  We then went back to the rubber ducky, Dad and I were not going to lift it, because it slid quite easily across the mud.  When we got back to the boat, we had to go for a swim to get all the mud off us.  When we were clean we went fishing.  The first cast I got a Bream then Dad got a Bream and then I got a Mulloway on Dad’s road, as he was on the phone.  When the sun was going down I caught a mud crab on a hook but it was too small.

Runaway Bay

The next day we were off to Runaway Bay Marina.  It was rollie going there because all the power boats going past created a lot of wake.  We finally got to the Marina where we tied up.  Our Grandma came and she bought us a crab she had caught that morning.  We went to our holiday house at Paradise Point and that is the end of my holiday.

Thanks for following us on our holiday and we will see you soon.
